In back-to-back nights, GapWell co-founders Seth Kessler & Lee Sosin have been invited to educate families on the benefits of thoughtful growth experiences on a teen's journey from high school to career.
As noted in the October 2024 issue of Town & Country Magazine, Kessler says that "You can create an awesome, thoughtful existence and spend parts of it with elements you need to pay for; others you can work for. You can do it in a smart way, but you have to put the effort in."
GapWell contends that co-creation is key. Collaborating with a trusted partner leads to success on one's journey from high school to career.
Sosin says, "As we all know life requires you to make choices. Being thoughtful about those decisions can be really empowering -- especially during these formative years."
College is not a bad thing, but college right now for every kid isn't necessarily the answer to every question.
Seth Kessler, co-founder of GapWell
Both sessions will include:
What the data says about the benefits of gap years on a teen's success in college and in life
How to know if a gap year is a good fit for your teen
How to discuss this option with your teen if they're reluctant to consider it
How to make the most of planning and executing a gap experience (with summer, semester & full-year examples)
How to best navigate the college deferral process if / when you choose to do a gap semester or year
What to do if you if your teen finds themselves as an "accidental gapper" due to a spring 2026 college admission
Hosted by Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School in Maryland on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 and the Sycamore School in Virginia on Thursday, January 9, 2025, both GapWell educational webinars are FREE and open to the public.
